AJ Styles Squares Off With Andrade “Cien” Almas On SmackDown
There are no days off when you’re the WWE Champion.
After narrowly defeating Samoa Joe at Hell in a Cell, WWE announced that AJ Styles will be back in action on SmackDown when he faces Andrade “Cien” Almas. The bout will be a non-title affair.
The two men previously battled on the Aug. 17 edition of SmackDown with Styles walking away with the victory. After dropping back-to-back matches to Daniel Bryan, Almas was able to get back on the winning track last Tuesday on SmackDown when he defeated R-Truth.
Meanwhile, Styles has been wrapped up with Joe since picking up a victory over Almas. The Phenomenal One successfully defended his WWE Title against Joe at Hell in a Cell, but the bout wasn’t without controversy. Joe locked Styles in the coquina clutch and looked to be on how way to victory, but Styles rolled through and picked up the three-count. However, as the ref was counting three, Styles tapped out.
Already announced for SmackDown is a United States Championship bout between champion Shinsuke Nakamura and challenger Rusev.
Fightful will provide live coverage of SmackDown on Tuesday.
