Scott Steiner Calls The WWE Product “Horrible”

Scott Steiner has always been one of the more outspoken individuals in wrestling. He proved that to be true once again during All In weekend.

Speaking to WhatCulture Wrestling, Steiner once again aired his grievances with WWE and how they do business.

“(All In) sold out in 30 minutes. For an independent show. I’ve never heard of that before. Now they’re doing it at Madison Square Garden. It just goes to show that nobody wants to watch that bullshit WWE puts out right now. That product is fucking horrible.”

Steiner worked in the WWE for two years in the early ’90s with his brother Rick as part of the Steiner Brothers tag team. He returned to the company as a singles star in 2002. Steiner went on to explain that he hated how things were going both times he was under contract.

“Fucking brutal. The two times I was up there was the two times I thought about quitting wrestling. The bullshit you gotta put up with. Now it’s worse.”

Steiner put the blame squarely on the shoulders of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. He used coarse language to describe both individuals in the full interview. Upon signing with WWE in 2002, Steiner entered into an immediate program with Triple H over the World Heavyweight Title. Steiner lost to Triple H at the Royal Rumble and No Way Out before moving down the card.

While Big Poppa Pump is not a fan of how WWE does business, he does have sympathy for the employees.

“I feel bad for the wrestlers,” said Steiner. “They pigeonhole them with these stupid character, make everyone do the same interview that they print out. You can’t expand or be creative. It’s not my picture of what wrestling is.

“Competition keeps people on their toes; trying to beat the other show. When WCW closed, they didn’t pick up any of our fans or viewers. They just turned them off. Look at the ratings now. Stephanie and Triple H do the same bullshit with the interview at the top of the show.”

Steiner went on to say that he believes a lawsuit could be coming over the WWE contracting talent as “independent contractors.” You can view the full interview below.
