Matt Hardy Says That He Wants To Finish His Career In WWE, But Adds That He’s Not Naive Enough To Say He’ll Never Leave

Matt Hardy’s Q&A session.

Former ten-time WWE Tag Team Champion Matt Hardy has made it clear on social media that he has transitioned to more of a backstage role in WWE. Hardy still competes at WWE live events but due to his lower back and pelvis having fused together over the years it has brought him pain to which he started to take it easy on that part of his body.

To give back to the fans that have supported him throughout his career, Matt hosted a Q&A session on his YouTube page and answered a number of questions that were presented to him. One of the questions asked of the “Woken One” was if he’d ever consider returning to IMPACT Wrestling or Ring Of Honor. IMPACT Wrestling is where Matt created the “Broken” gimmick that put him front and center in the eyes of the public again and the gimmick has been one that Matt himself has stated has brought new life to his career. Matt and Jeff Hardy are also former ROH World Tag Team Champions and the night before their return to WWE at WrestleMania 33 they took on The Young Bucks in a Ladder match at ‘Supercard Of Honor XI’

Matt explained during the Q&A that he is hoping to finish out his career in the WWE because he feels that he’s in debt to the sports-entertainment company for all that they’ve done for him but he added that he is not naive enough to say that he will never depart from WWE.

“Look at you Justin [Who asked the question] – trying to come with a question that’s gonna get me heat.” Hardy jokingly said. “Trying to put me on the hot seat, that’s okay. I am very honest with myself and I like thought-provoking questions like such… in a perfect world, in a perfect scenario, I will finish the remainder of my career with WWE because I… when I came back to WWE, I really wanted to and it was important to me because I felt like I owed WWE a debt.” Hardy said. “I hated how I left in 2010/2011. I was just burned out on every level possible and I wanted to come back and leave on a high note and I felt that I owed them a debt in many ways so yeah, in a perfect world, I want to finish my career in WWE. With that being said, I’m not naive enough to say that I will never leave WWE. I mean anything is possible in this world. We don’t live in a perfect world, we don’t live in a perfect scenario and sure, could I see myself going back to an IMPACT Wrestling or a Ring Of Honor if something didn’t work – either with the scheduling of WWE or whatever the job was and it conflicted with my family and I could do a shot here and there and kind of have my own schedule almost like Jericho does, sure. Its a possibility, anything’s possible. I am too intelligent to deny that so, hope that answers your question.” Hardy concluded.
