UFC 228: Woodley vs. Till Bonus, Attendance And Gate Information
It was an exciting night of fights at UFC 228 from Dallas, Texas. Headlined by a Welterweight Title fight between Tyron Woodley and Darren Till, UFC 228 drew 14,073 fans for a gate of $1.7 million.
The last time the UFC was at the American Airlines Arena was for UFC 221 headlined by a Heavyweight Title fight between Stipe Miocic and Junior dos Santos. That event drew 17,834 fans for a gate of $2.6 million. This was the company’s fifth trip to Dallas, Texas. UFC 228 marks the lowest attendance and gate of their five stops at American Airlines Arena.
Fight of the Night honors went to Irene Aldana and Lucie Pudilová for their 15-minute war. The fight was a back-and-forth affair with Aldana coming out on top by split decision. This is Aldana’s second Fight of the Night bonus. Her previous one came in December 2016 against Leslie Smith. This marks the first time Pudilová has won the award.
The first Performance of the Night went to Jessica Andrade. Andrade made short work of Karolina Kowalkiewicz, scoring a knockout victory in under two minutes. The knockout was one of the most brutal KO’s you’ll see in the Strawweight division. Andrade previously captured a Performance of the Night bonus at UFC 203 for her submission win over Joanne Calderwood.
Tyron Woodley won the other Performance of the Night bonus for his dominating championship victory over Darren Till. Woodley has now won three Performance of the Night bonuses and one Knockout of the Night bonus. He last Performance bonus came when he knocked out Robbie Lawler to become Welterweight Champion.
