Report: Erick Silva Signs With Bellator MMA
Another UFC veteran is making his way over to Bellator MMA according to MMA Fighting and that person is Brazilian fighter Erick Silva.
The report from MMA Fighting is also stating that Silva is expected to make his promotional debut before the end of the year, although no date or opponent have been announced at this time. There is no word yet as to how many fights the contract is for or what the financial numbers look like for the newly signed competitor.
Silva (20-9-0-1NC) won seven of fifteen fights while competing in the UFC, with those victories coming over Luis Ramos, Charlie Brenneman, Jason High, Takanori Sato, Mike Rhodes, Josh Koscheck and Luan Chagas. Silva has fought once since his exit from the UFC, having defeated Nick Barnes by first round submission at Legacy Fighting Alliance 45. Silva isn’t a fighter known for going the distance, with just seven of his thirty professional MMA bouts going to the judges scorecards.
A newly signed Silva now enters a division currently ruled by fellow UFC veteran Rory MacDonald, who is also looking to become the king of the middleweight division when he faces Gegard Mousasi in the main event of Bellator 206 later this month.
