Report: Claudia Gadelha Faces Nina Ansaroff At UFC 231

A women’s strawweight division bout has been added to the upcoming UFC 231 card according to Aaron Bronsteter of TSN as #3 Claudia Gadelha is in action against #11 Nina Ansaroff.

Gadelha (16-3-0) has won three of her last four under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over the trio of Cortney Casey, Karolina Kowalkiewicz and Carla Esparza. Gadelha has previously challenged for the UFC Women’s Strawweight Championship, suffering a decision loss to then champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale. Gadelha has seen seven of her eight fights in the UFC go the distance and she holds a record of 4-3-0 in those encounters.

Ansaroff (9-5-0) enters the bout riding a three fight winning streak, having defeated Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger, Angela Hill and Randa Markos. Ansaroff hasn’t suffered a defeat in almost three years, with that last loss coming to Justine Kish at UFC 195. Ansaroff has suffered five losses as a professional MMA fighter and four of them came to past/current UFC fighters.

UFC 231 takes place on Saturday, December 8 from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with Max Holloway and Brian Ortega headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
