Paige VanZant Cleared For UFC Return
Paige VanZant hasn’t been seen in the Octagon since suffering a decision loss to Jessica-Rose Clark at UFC Fight Night St. Louis.
After suffering two surgeries as a result of a broken arm from that fight, it has been revealed by PVZ that she has been cleared to compete again.
“The verdict is I can go for it,” VanZant said on her official Youtube page. “I can punch people again – well I’m not able to punch people yet – but in like six weeks I can punch people. But I can start training and working out again and I’m going to be fighting in January.”
A report had surfaced over a week ago saying PVZ would fight Rachael Ostovich this January at a yet to be announced UFC event, but VanZant shot that story down.
VanZant now confirms she is going to be fighting at that yet to be announced event, but neglects to name an opponent.
“I can officially announce, you heard it here first, that I will be taking a fight on Jan. 18 on the first-ever ESPN card,” VanZant said. “We’re going to be getting an opponent matched up.”
The female fighting star has yet to pick up a win since moving to the flyweight division, but did win four bouts in the UFC as a strawweight.
