Report: Claudio Silva Injured, Off UFC Fight Night Moscow
Claudio Silva has suffered a lower back injury according to MMA Fighting and has been pulled from the UFC Fight Night Moscow card, where he was scheduled to battle Ramazan Emeev on the preliminary card.
UFC officials are seeking a replacement to fight Emeev, as the fighter is expected to remain on the card at this time. The promotion has less than two weeks to find a suitable replacement, as UFC Fight Night Moscow is set for September 15.
There is no word yet on just how long Silva is going to be out of action for, but the report says no surgery is needed for the injury.
Emeev (17-3-0) is currently undefeated under the UFC banner, having defeated the duo of Sam Alvey and Alberto Mina. Emeev enters the contest on the strength of a six fight winning streak and he hasn’t suffered a defeat in almost four years. Emeev is a former two time M-1 Challenge Welterweight Champion, defeating UFC veterans Mario Miranda and Luigi Fioravanti to start both reigns.
UFC Fight Night Moscow takes place on Saturday, September 15 from the Olympic Stadium in Moscow, Russia with Mark Hunt and Alexey Oleinik headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on UFC Fight Pass.
