Gail Kim Doesn’t Like Stephanie McMahon Taking Credit For The Women’s Evolution
Gail Kim has already publicly stated that she won’t be appearing at WWE Evolution.
Speaking to Press Slam, Kim revealed more insight as to why she won’t celebrate the Women’s Revolution along with everyone else in the company on Oct. 28.
“I love all the girls there in WWE. I haven’t met all of them because I’ve been gone a long time, but wrestling is a small world. I’m fans of some of these girls. I support them and I want them to do what I couldn’t do there. I’m happy for them. But when — this is probably going to cause commotion because anytime I say anything about Stephanie McMahon — for me, I don’t like the fact when Stephanie will, all of a sudden say, ‘Women power or revolution.’ She’s been there the whole time. Why, all of a sudden, are you completely changing your mind and dismissing the fact that you never spoke of this before? That’s the part that I don’t like.”
The former Women’s champion noted that she understands that it’s “business and marketing,” just that she doesn’t agree with it. Kim went on to say that while she likes that WWE is taking steps to showcase the female talent, there’s more that can be done.
“The next step is for them to be paid in full. If they have a main event slot at Royal Rumble, then they should be paid accordingly. I’m not sure if it’s happening, but I’m going to have to say that I doubt it.”
Kim previously noted that she was never happy in WWE, but has found her happiness in Impact Wrestling, where she currently works as an agent for the Knockout’s Division.
