WWE Raw Results For 8/27/28: WWE Intercontinental Title Match, KO Quits & Trish Stratus Returns

– WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns makes his way to the ring to start the show, Reigns said he told Braun Strowman that he would be out here tonight. Strowman comes out and he has the briefcase with him, Strowman mocks Reigns for having the rest of The Shield save him last week. Reigns says both Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins made their own choices last week, Reigns dares Strowman to cash in the contract tonight and Strowman says no because he knows The Shield will interrupt. Strowman says he’ll cash in the contract at WWE Hell In A Cell, the two shake hands and Dolph Ziggler interrupts with Drew McIntyre at his side.

Ziggler says Rollins and Ambrose stole the WWE Intercontinental Title at WWE Summerslam ‘18, McIntyre says Reigns and Strowman will be there new challenge. McIntyre says that they will knock Reigns and Strowman off of their mountain tonight, Raw Gm Corbin interrupts and he says the Strowman versus Reigns match is official for WWE Hell In A Cell. Corbin says Reigns & Strowman will face Ziggler & McIntyre in tonight’s main event, Corbin enters the ring and he says that he’ll face Finn Balor next.

Raw GM Corbin vs. Finn Balor

The match begins with Corbin dropping Balor with a back elbow strike, Corbin misses a charge in the corner before nailing Balor with a clothesline. Corbin holds Balor down while applying a modified chin lock, Balor gets free and Corbin nails him with a knee strike. Balor rolls through a sunset flip to nail Corbin with a basement drop kick, Corbin recovers and he corners Balor. Corbin misses a charge into the corner and still manages to knock Balor to the arena floor, Corbin goes out of the ring to shove Balor into the barricade. Corbin gets Balor in the ring to get a near fall on a pin attempt, Corbin drops Balor with a few strikes before stomping away on him. Corbin reapplies the modified chin lock to Balor, Balor gets free and Corbin levels him with a right.

Corbin knocks Balor to the arena floor and he follows him out there, Balor drops Corbin with a sling blade on the arena floor as we go to a commercial break. We return from the break to see Corbin nailing a cornered Balor with multiple clotheslines, Balor recovers and he drops Corbin before landing a double stomp. Balor then hits Corbin with a running chop in the corner, Corbin fights back and Balor drops him with a sling blade. Corbin recovers and nails a charging Balor with a Deep Six for a near fall, Balor shocks Corbin with a small package for a near fall. Balor then knocks Corbin to the arena floor before taking him out with a suicide dive, Corbin tries grabbing a chair and Balor gets him in the ring. Balor drops Corbin with a step up enzaguri before missing a Coupe De Grace, Corbin grabs the chair and he attacks Balor with it.

Winner: Finn Balor, by DQ

After the match, Raw GM Corbin grabs the microphone and he says the match is now a No DQ Match.

The match begins with Corbin attacking Balor with a steel chair, Corbin then hits Balor with the End Of Days for a three count.

Winner: Raw GM Corbin

– A video package airs highlighting Triple H’s comments about his upcoming match with The Undertaker at WWE Super-Showdown, followed by comments from various WWE personalities about the match.

– Dana Brooke is talking to Apollo Crews backstage, Crews says Brooke needs to win to get a guaranteed spot at WWE Evolution. Titus O’Neil walks in and informs Brooke that her opponent for tonight is Sasha Banks.

Sasha Banks w/Bayley vs. Dana Brooke w/Titus Worldwide

The match begins with Brooke rolling up Banks a few times for a few one counts, Banks gets Brooke down and Brooke gets out of the ring to avoid a Bank Statement. Brooke gets back in the ring and she sends a charging Banks in the corner, Brooke then hits Banks with an enzaguri before landing a series of strikes. Brooke would then corner Banks before landing a springboard back elbow strike, Brooke misses a charge in the corner and Banks lands a top rope double knee strike for a near fall. Brooke fights back and Banks applies the Bank Statement to force a tap out.

Winner: Sasha Banks w/Bayley

– Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose are shown talking backstage.

– Dean Ambrose is approached by Jinder Mahal and Sunil Singh backstage, Mahal says he can guide Ambrose to spirituality. Ambrose says that he sees himself beating up Mahal one day, which causes Mahal and Singh to leave the area.

– WWE Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins makes his way to the ring, Rollins says The Shield had to take care of some family business last week. Rollins says tonight is about the WWE Intercontinental Championship, Rollins issues an open challenge for the title tonight and its answered by Kevin Owens. Owens has a microphone and he says that he’s so glad that Rollins is happy, Owens says his life has been a living hell since returning to Raw. Owens says that he would be WWE Universal Champion if it weren’t for Braun Strowman, Owens says he isn’t leaving tonight without a title.

WWE Intercontinental Title Match
Seth Rollins (c) vs. Kevin Owens

The match begins with Owens attacking Rollins with a series of strikes, Owens traps Rollins in the corner while a striking exchange breaks out. Owens follows Rollins around the ring while landing strikes, Rollins drops Owens while landing more strikes of his own. Rollins fights back and he knocks Owens out of the ring with a clothesline, Rollins gets Owens in the ring and he traps him in the ropes before landing a leg drop. Owens falls back to the arena floor and Rollins nails him with a clothesline from the ring steps as we go to a commercial break, we return from the break to see Owens holding Rollins down in the ring with a chin lock. Rollins gets free and Owens drops him with an Irish whip before landing a springboard elbow drop for a near fall, Rollins rolls out of the ring and Owens sends him shoulder first into the ring post.

Rollins gets in the ring and Owens wrenches away on his arm while trapping it in the ropes, Owens then lands a senton on the injured arm of Rollins. Owens holds Rollins down while wrenching away on his arm, Owens drags Rollins out of the ring before sending him into the barricade. Owens goes for a cannonball and Rollins gets out of the way to send Owens into the barricade, Rollins gets back in the ring and he attacks Owens with strikes as he gets back in. Rollins would then drop Owens with a sling blade and Owens rolls out of the ring, Rollins follows that up by taking out Owens with multiple suicide dives. Owens fights back and Rollins nails him with another suicide dive as we go to another commercial break, we return from the break to see Rollins nail Owens with a frog splash for a near fall.

Rollins goes for the curb stomp and Owens gets out of the ring, Owens goes back after the injured arm of Rollins before sending him into the ring post. Owens keeps Rollins down and he applies the cross face, Rollins eventually gets to the ropes to break the hold. Owens stands over Rollins with landing a plethora of strikes, Rollins gets up and Owens attacks him with a few slaps, Rollins escapes a pop up power bomb attempt to hit him with a super kick. Owens catches Rollins with a stunner from out of nowhere for a near fall, Owens gets Rollins on the top rope and he follows him up there. Rollins gets free and he nails Owens with a buckle bomb, Owens recovers and he nails Rollins with a super kick from out of nowhere for a near fall. Owens goes to the top rope and Rollins meets him up there after a striking exchange, Rollins then hits Owens with an enzaguri.

Owens recovers and hr crotches Rollins on the top rope, Owens misses a moonsault and Rollins nails a curb stomp for the three count.

Winner: Seth Rollins, still the WWE Intercontinental Champion

– Raw GM Corbin is on his phone backstage when Braun Strowman arrives to hand him the Money In The Bank contract. 

– Kevin Owens is still in the ring when the commercial break ends and he has a microphone in hand, Owens says “I Quit” before heading backstage.

– Renee Young interviews Drew McIntyre & Dolph Ziggler, who say they challenged Roman Reigns & Braun Strowman in order to make their move to the top.

The B-Team (Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas) vs. The Revival (Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson)

The match begins with Dallas nailing Wilder with an elbow strike before landing a knee drop, Axel tags in and he nails Wilder with an elbow drop for a near fall. Wilder stuns Axel before tagging Dawson into the match, Dawson traps Axel in the corner while landing some strikes. Axel fights back and he nails Dawson with a drop kick, Dallas tags in and he works with Axel to hit Dawson with a double back body drop. Wilder tags in and he is sent to the arena floor as we go to a commercial break, we return from the break to see Wilder applying a modified chin lock to a downed Dallas. Dawson tags in and he drops Dallas for a near fall, Dawson applies a reverse bear hug to a downed Dallas.

Wilder tags in and he quickly drops Dallas with a clothesline, Wilder goes for a tornado DDT and Dallas counters with a rope assisted neck breaker. Dawson tags in and Dallas sends him into the ropes before tagging Axel in, Axel quickly cleans house against the opposing team. Axel then hits Dawson with a neck breaker for a near fall, Axel sends Dawson into the corner before Wilder knocks Dallas out of the ring. Wilder tags in and The Revival hit Axel with a Shatter Machine for the three count.

Winners: The Revival (Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson)

After the match, The Revival also hit Bo Dallas with a Shatter Machine before grabbing the Raw Tag Team Titles and microphones. Scott Dawson says The B-Team has made the Raw tag division a joke, Dash Wilder says The B-Team has made a mockery of the division.

– Elias is shown talking to his roadie backstage.

– Elias is in the ring and he plays his guitar for quite some time, Elias then asks “who wants to walk with Elias?” Elias says that Toronto is the bottom of the entertainment industry, Trish Stratus interrupts and makes her way to the ring. Stratus grabs a microphone and Elias mocks her before she speaks, Stratus says she isn’t happy about Elias mocking her hometown. Elias continues to take digs at Toronto and Stratus takes digs at him, Stratus also talks about WWE Evolution. Elias wonders if Stratus is going to compete in a swimsuit at the event, Stratus tells Elias to get out of the ring. Elias calls Stratus old and he gets slapped in the face before Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey comes out, Natalya soon follows.

– Alexa Bliss comes out with a microphone before the next match, Bliss mocks all three women who are in the ring. Bliss says she has replaced Trish Stratus and nothing will save her from the beat down she’ll get at WWE Evolution, Bliss says that Ronda Rousey failed to end her career by breaking her arm. Bliss says she is getting her rematch for the Raw Women’s Title at WWE Hell In A Cell, Bliss then brings out a returning Mickie James.

Natalya w/Ronda Rousey & Trish Stratus vs. Alicia Fox w/Alexa Bliss & Mickie James

The match begins with Natalya sending Fox in the corner before failing at a sharp shooter attempt, Fox rolls out of the ring and Natalya nails her with a baseball slide drop kick. Fox gets back in the ring and she drops Natalya for a near fall, Fox holds Natalya down while applying a chin lock. Natalya gets free and Fox kicks her in the face, Fox drags Natalya to the ropes before choking her on the bottom one. Bliss and James attack Natalya and that draws the wrath of Rousey and Stratus, Natalya recovers and nails Fox with a spinning clothesline. Natalya applies the sharp shooter and a tap out follows.

Winner: Natalya w/Ronda Rousey & Trish Stratus

– The Bella Twins bump into Natalya, Trish Stratus and Ronda Rousey backstage and a celebration takes place. The Bella Twins announce they are returning to in-ring action next week on WWE Raw.

– Another video package airs featuring various WWE personalities talking about Triple H vs. The Undertaker at WWE Super Show-Down.

– Raw GM Corbin is on his phone backstage when Bobby Lashley arrives, Corbin says that Lashley has a match and it is next.

– Raw GM Corbin appears on the big screen and he says that Bobby Lashley’s opponents are The Ascension.

Bobby Lashley vs. The Ascension (Konnor & Viktor)

The match begins with Lashley jumping his opponents before the bell sounded, Konnor distracts Lashley so Viktor can gain control. Konnor tags in and he kicks Lashley in the leg, Lashley goes down and Konnor stomps away on him before applying a front headlock. Viktor tags in and he cracks Lashley with a few strikes before applying a front headlock, Lashley gets free and he propels Viktor across the ring. Lashley then hits Viktor with snake eyes before landing a spine buster, Lashley then hits Viktor with a Dominator for the three count.

Winner: Bobby Lashley

– Dean Ambrose is shown walking backstage.

Dean Ambrose vs. Jinder Mahal w/Sunil Singh

The match begins with Ambrose scoring a takedown on Mahal before going for the pin, Ambrose then uses a clothesline to knock Mahal out of the ring. Ambrose follows Mahal out of the ring to land a series of strikes, Singh tries interfering and Ambrose takes him out. Ambrose gets back in the ring and Mahal drops him before landing a knee drop for a near fall, Mahal keeps Ambrose down while landing some strikes of his own. Mahal drags Ambrose to the ropes before choking him on the middle one, Mahal then chokes Ambrose with his knee. Mahal holds Ambrose down while applying the chin lock to him, Ambrose fights back and Mahal nails him with a knee strike. Ambrose recovers and he drops Mahal a few time with clotheslines, Ambrose then drops Mahal midsection first on the top rope.

Mahal fights back and he nails Ambrose with a knee strike for a near fall, Ambrose fights back and hits Mahal with a Dirty Deeds for a three count.

Winner: Dean Ambrose

– Roman Reigns is shown preparing backstage when Braun Strowman arrives, Strowman says they need to work together tonight and then he’’ take Reigns title at WWE Hell In A Cell.

Roman Reigns & Braun Strowman vs. Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre

The match begins with Ziggler attacking Reigns with a few strikes, Reigns fights back and Ziggler applies a headlock. Reigns escapes the headlock to drop Ziggler with a clothesline, Reigns then knocks both opponents to the arena floor. Reigns also goes out of the ring to hit Ziggler with a Drive By, McIntyre interferes and he kicks Reigns in the face. Reigns is thrown in the ring and Ziggler nails him with a DDT for a near fall, McIntyre tags in and he attacks Reigns with a plethora of strikes. Ziggler tags in and he applies the sleeper hold to Reigns, Ziggler releases the sleeper to hit Reigns with a drop kick for a near fall. McIntyre tags in and he nails Reigns with a suplex for a near fall, Ziggler tags back in and he nails Reigns with an elbow drop for a near fall.

Ziggler reapplies the sleeper hold and Reigns sends Ziggler into the corner to get free, Reigns then sends Ziggler out of the ring. Reigns then nails a charging Ziggler with a boot to the face, McIntyre tags in and he prevents Reigns from tagging Strowman in. McIntyre then hits Reigns with a belly to belly suplex for a near fall, Ziggler tags in and he rakes Reigns face along the top rope. Ziggler goes for an avalanche and Reigns counters with a superman punch, McIntyre and Strowman get tagged in by their respective partners. Strowman stands on the ring apron while allowing McIntyre and Ziggler to attack Reigns until the referee calls for the bell to end the match.

Winners: Roman Reigns & Braun Strowman , by DQ

After the match, Braun Strowman attacks Roman Reigns alongside Drew Roman Reigns & Braun Strowman and Dolph Ziggler. Dean Ambrose comes out for the save and he gets beaten down by everybody, Seth Rollins hits the ring and everybody takes him out as well. Strowman then hits all three members of The Shield with power slams.
