Report: Keri Melendez Faces Dakota Zimmerman At Bellator 206

A women’s strawweight bout has been added to Bellator 206 according to a report from MMA Junkie as Keri Melendez is going to be in action against Dakota Zimmerman.

Melendez (2-0-0) has spent her entire professional MMA career competed in Bellator MMA, defeating the duo of Sheila Padilla and Tiani Valle. Melendez has not been out of the first round as a professional MMA fighter and her longest bout went just under three minutes. Melendez has no amateur MMA experience to speak of, but she has a lot of experience as a professional kickboxer, which includes competing in Bellator Kickboxing.

Zimmerman (1-0-0) is going to be making her Bellator MMA debut in this bout and is also competing for the first time in over three years. Zimmerman made her professional MMA debut in June 2015 at Shamrock FC: Opposition, defeating Michelle Swasho by third round TKO. Zimmerman also competed once as an amateur MMA fighter, suffering a unanimous decision loss to Kylie Davis.

Bellator 206 takes place on Saturday, September 29 from the SAP Center in San Jose, California with Gegard Mousasi and Rory MacDonald headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on DAZN.
