UFC Veteran Nicolas Dalby Added To Cage Warriors 96, Full Card Announced
The Cage Warriors 96 card already features Paddy Pimblett fighting Soren Bak for the vacant lightweight title and Lee Chadwick defending the middleweight gold against Jonas Billstein.
Now that card has another big addition in the form of UFC veteran Nicolas Dalby, who faces Roberto Allegretti in a welterweight division clash.
Dalby (14-3-1) enters the contest on a three fight losing streak, dropping bouts to Zak Cummings, Peter Sobotta and Carlo Pedersoli Jr. Daly won just one of four fights under the UFC banner, with that lone victry coming over Elizeu Zaleski Dos Santos at UFC Fight Night 67. Dalby is a former Cage Warriors Welterweight Champion, defeating Sergei Churilov to win the strap at Cage Warriors 66.
Allegretti (3-0-0) is going to be making his Cage Warriors debut in this fight and does so with an undefeated streak that has lasted over five years. Allegretti is also returning to action for the first time in over a year, with that last win coming over Alessandro Giovanelli in April of 2017. Allegretti has picked up a total of three wins as a professional MMA fighter, with one coming by KO/TKO, one coming by submission and one coming by way of decision.
Other bouts announced for the Cage Warriors 96 card include Jack Grant vs. Aleksi Mantykivi, Tim Barnett vs. Matthew Bonner, Sam Creasey vs. Coner Hignett, Mahmod Faour vs. Elliot Jenkins, Mush Aslani vs. Mick Stanton and Mehdi Ben Lakhdar vs. Anthony O’Connor.
Cage Warriors 96 takes place on Saturday, September 1 from the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England with Paddy Pimblett and Soren Bak headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on UFC Fight Pass.
