Seth Rollins: “I Never Put Anything Ahead Of Wrestling And I Know That I Am Never Going To”

Rollins is locked in.

This upcoming Sunday at the 31st annual SummerSlam PPV, Seth Rollins will be challenging Dolph Ziggler for the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Since losing the championship to Ziggler this past June, Rollins has had to fend off both Ziggler and former NXT Champion Drew McIntyre. That will not be the case this Sunday when the “Lunatic Fringe” Dean Ambrose will be in the corner of his fellow ‘Shield’ brethren.

Ahead of his championship bout, Rollins was in China doing PR work for WWE to promote the forthcoming September 1st live event in Shanghai and along the way he spoke with a number of news outlets including ‘Shine’. During the interview, Rollins went over many of topics including his love for the sport of professional wrestling. Rollins explained in his own words that he is “stubborn” and “single-minded” in some aspects involving wrestling because he will always place being in the squared circle above anything else.

“I am so stubborn and single-minded that I never put anything ahead of wrestling and I know that I am never going to,” he says. “I think the difficult thing is if you are in a relationship, if you’re married, you have a kid, something along those lines, it can be difficult and stressful on your partner because it puts a lot of pressure on them to have to deal with things on their own. That’s been the hardest thing for me. Being with someone, feeling like they understand where you’re coming from,” says Rollins, “But if you’re not on the same side it’s hard to really understand the sacrifice that goes into what you need to do to be successful in our type of industry.”

The SummerSlam match card is loaded with a total of thirteen matches. To take a look at the lineup for WWE’s “Biggest Party Of The Summer”, head over to Fightful’s “events” section.
