Fight Size Update: WWE Remembers Aretha Franklin, Natalya Writes About Jim Neidhart, Elias’ Concert Changed, And More

Here is your Fight Size update for the evening of Aug. 16.

-The latest Fightful Wrestling Weekly is up over at Fightful Select.

Natalya Neidhart posted a heartfelt goodbye to her father Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart in the Calgary Sun.

“Daddy — as I affectionately called him — and I were so similar in a lot of ways, and we shared that extra-special bond of professional wrestling and our careers.”

-Nick Aldis will defend the NWA World Heavyweight Title against Robbie E on Aug. 17 at APWA in Grafton, WY.

-Hideo Itami never forgets.

-Rey Mysterio Jr. has pulled out of his Aug. 24 appearance for Northeast Wrestling. In a Facebook post, the company cites “contractual situation with WWE” as the reason for his absence. 

-Elias’ concert has been moved to SummerSlam.

 -Maria Kanellis took expection to Charlotte’s “Diva” comment towards Carmella on SmackDown.

-Charlotte herself seemingly backtracked a bit.

-Aretha Franklin passed away at the age of 76. She performed “America the Beautiful” at WrestleMania 3 and 23.
