Report: Ryan LaFlare Faces Tony Martin At UFC 229
A welterweight division attraction has been added to UFC 229 according to LaFlare himself as Ryan LaFlare is in action against Tony Martin.
LaFlare (14-2-0) has won three of his last four under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over the trio of Mike Pierce, Roan Carneiro and Alex Garcia. LaFlare has suffered just two defeats and they both came in UFC competition, with those losses coming to Demian Maia and Alex Oliveira. LaFlare has seen eight of his nine bouts in the UFC go the distance, with LaFlare holding a record of 7-1-0 in those encounters.
Martin (13-4-0) has been undefeated since moving up to the welterweight division, as he defeated Keita Nakamura by decision at UFC Fight Night Atlantic City. Martin has previously competed as a lightweight in the UFC, earning a record of 4-4-0 in that weight class. Martin competes at a UFC pay-per-view event for the first time in almost four years, with his last such appearance coming at UFC 179 in October 2014.
