Rey Mysterio Says It’s Humbling To Be One Of The WWE 2K19 Pre-Order Bonus Characters

Rey is humbled.

WWE 2K19 is set to release two months from today and the cover superstar along with two pre-order bonus characters and a special game mode have been announced. Joining “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey as a pre-order bonus character is former two-time WWE Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio who had a unique commercial shoot to announce his role in this year’s game. A number of current WWE stars wore Mysterio’s masks and said a word that relates to Rey and the final individual to take off their mask in the commercial was none other than “The Master Of The 619” himself.

Rey has been keeping himself busy as he is set to work a date this month during the G1 Climax 28 tournament. He’ll be competing at ‘All In’ next month, has been training his son to become a pro wrestler and on top of that he is making a number of appearances and his latest meet and greet appearance was at the Florida Supercon where Rey spoke with Jim Varsallone of the Miami Herald. Among the many topics that were discussed, Rey went in-depth about why being chosen to be the pre-order bonus character for WWE 2K19 means so much to him.

“It was very nostalgic. It was humbling,” Mysterio said. “To see the amount of work that was put in by WWE to get this product out, to do things like they always do, top notch. My respect goes out to those who paid respect for Rey Mysterio.” He said. “Whether it’s The Miz saying he’s the best, that’s a form of flattery from his end, a form of paying respect to what I’ve done for almost three decades. I was very happy with the end result. I was amazed as a matter of fact. To see the end result, because I had a draft of how everything was going to be laid out, but when I saw it on footage, after all was said and done, and the product was fine, I was like, ‘Wow, this came out awesome.’ I was really, really happy.”

Although Rey Mysterio is currently making the rounds all over the pro wrestling scene, he has made it clear that he would like to close out his career in the WWE.
