Bellator MMA Veteran Danny Tims Charged With Attempted Murder
Three fight Bellator MMA veteran Danny Tims has been arrested by Jupiter, Florida police this past Saturday. The fighter has been charged with attempted homicide, robbery, aggravated battery, and vehicle theft according to CBS 4 (Miami).
The Palm Beach Post reports that the Bellator MMA veteran allegedly stabbed a 37 year old man in the heart at the Jupiter Grove Apartment Complex. Tims also had allegedly stabbed the man’s girlfriend in the thigh before stealing her purse and car after the attack.
An arrest report states that Tims and the women who was stabbed were roommates, but the violence started after an argument between the two. Jupiter police would arrest Tims a mere thirty minutes after the violent altercation took place and currently resides in the Palm Beach County Prison on $653,000 bail.
Tims had no prior arrested according to court records in Palm Beach County, but he has a criminal history in Missouri. Tims was charged in the state of Missouri with misdemeanor traffic violations and marijuana possession. The fighter spent a total of four years in a Missouri state prison for possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, three counts of domestic assault (second degree), and one count of unlawful use of a weapon.
If Tims is found guilty of the charges brought against him in the state of Florida, it could see the Bellator MMA veteran serve up to a life sentence. Tims is also innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Tims won just one of three under the Bellator MMA banner, defeating Brian Davidson, while suffering losses to Jose Vega and Jared Downing.
