Rich Swann Pulled From Tonight’s ‘Slammiversary XVI’ PPV; His Replacement Has Been Revealed
Some unfortunate news for Swann.
Tonight’s IMPACT Wrestling ‘Slammiversary XVI’ PPV will be emanating live from the ‘Rebel Entertainment Complex’ in Toronto, Canada. One of the eight matches scheduled for tonight’s show was a Four-Way match featuring Johnny Impact, Rich Swann, Taiji Ishimori and Fenix.
Unfortunately for Swann and for the fans that will be in attendance tonight, Swann suffered an injury while working MLW’s ‘Battle Riot’ event this past Thursday. Swann was involved in a tag team match alongside ACH taking on the duo of Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Teddy Hart. At some point during the match Swann hit his head on the guardrail and that resulted in him being taken to a local medical facility and he was said to have a concussion. Swann was released from the hospital that same night.
Today, in an update by way of F4WOnline, Swann has officially been pulled from tonight’s ‘Slammiversary XVI’ PPV. IMPACT Wrestling has sent out the following notification via their official Twitter page that former two-time TNA X Division Champion Petey Williams will be filling in for Swann in tonight’s Four-Way match with Johnny Impact, Taiji Ishimori and Fenix.
Fightful has a coverage article going up for ‘Slammiversary XVI’ later this evening. Also, our very own Sean Ross Sapp will be reviewing the action that will take place during tonight’s PPV.
