Exclusive: Jeff Jarrett Looks At 2015 TNA Return Promo, Hall Of Fame Induction
Jeff Jarrett has been in and out of TNA, Impact, Global Force Wrestling and any other iterations of the company since the beginning, but often one promo sticks out.
After years away from TNA, Jarrett returned in 2015 for a brief run that saw him inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame. In addition, both he and wife Karen Jarrett were given time to speak to the crowd, in a promo that wasn’t as much of a promo as it was a live therapy session.
When speaking to Fightful.com recently, Jarrett looked back at that return, as well as his Hall of Fame induction speech.
“It was really easy to do, I spoke from the heart. I guarantee you Karen spoke from the heart. We got back to the hotel that night and Karen got up and sat in the chair — she was emotionally drained. It was unexpected. That is something that I’ve been asked about off and on since it took place. The actual Hall of Fame speech I gave was edited up quite a bit for TV time. In my humble opinion, the best stuff was left on the cutting room floor. That was my chance to thank the people who were in the trenches with me day in and day out. You can call it a promo, but it was as real emotion as you can possibly have,” Jarrett told us.
These days, the former WCW Champion Jarrett still entertains on the microphone. Jarrett is also preparing for his own one man show, which will be broadcast on the FITE app on July 25.
“My relationship with Fite goes back four years, when they were actually called Flipps. They were the distributors when they came to New Japan Pro Wrestling and Global Force to distribute Wrestle Kingdom 9 on pay-per-view in North America. Their brand pivoted into boxing, MMA, professional wrestling world – all kinds of things. I’ve had an arm’s length relationship for a long time, but I’ve always been drawn to their technology and quality of it. We formed a partnership and announced it in May,” said Jarrett.
