Junior Dos Santos Wants Rubber Match With Stipe Miocic

Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior Dos Santos competed in the main event of UFC Fight Night Boise, picking up a unanimous decision win over Blagoy Ivanov.

JDS has split a pair of fights with former UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic and he would like a third fight against the former title holder.

“That would be a good fight, and I want that because I think we deserve it, both of us,” said Dos Santos after the fight.

Dos Santos picked up the first win in the series against Miocic at UFC On Fox 13, while Miocic won the rematch at UFC 211.

The rubber match would just settle things between the two according to Dos Santos, because he believes the winner should get a title shot.

“Miocic was the champion that just lost the championship with one punch,” Dos Santos said. “That’s the heavyweight division. Sometimes, when you connect right on your (chin), you’re done. We’re going to have to wait a little bit now, because Brock Lesnar and Daniel Cormier will fight. We could do this fight, and maybe the winner will fight for the title.”

Miocic hasn’t announced his next move since losing the title to Daniel Cormier at UFC 226, but Miocic did say a rematch with DC is on the fighters mind.
