Report: WWE Signs Independent Wrestler Lacey Lane
Lacey Lane is reportedly getting another chance at WWE.
Last year, Lacey Lane told the Spinning Heel Kick podcast that she had her WWE contract offer rescinded because of arthritis in her knee. This cost her the chance to be in the first Mae Young Classic. With the second Mae Young Classic coming up in August, Lane has reportedly signed with WWE according to Lucha Central.
No official word has been said on if Lane will be competing in the tournament but WWE has began to announce wrestlers for the tournament including the returning Kaitlyn and the newly signed Io Shirai.
Lane was trained at the Dudley Boyz’ Team 3D Academy and has worked for promotions like The Crash Lucha Libre and AroLucha. She was also on a Division II Basketball National Championship team.
Lane wrestled Impact Wrestling’s Tessa Blanchard on Saturday night in Tijuana, Mexico for Lane’s Crash Women’s Championship.
Fightful Wrestling will update Lane’s situation as she navigates her professional wrestling career and there will be continued coverage of the upcoming Mae Young Classic.
