Exclusive: Pentagon Jr.: “I Promise” There Will Be Blood At Slammiversary
In just a few months, Pentagon Jr. has become one of the top stars in Impact Wrestling today, winning the company’s top singles title and is now ready to wrestle in another marquee matchup in one of Impact’s biggest shows of the year.
In an exclusive interview with Fightful, Pentagon talked about his upcoming match against Sami Callihan, which is scheduled to be a mask vs. hair match in which Pentagon puts his mask on the line.
The two had been feuding for a while on Impact with Callihan even unmasking Pentagon on a recent episode of Impact, but Pentagon covered his maskless face before anyone got a good look at it. As far as the match at Slammiversary is concerned, Pentagon believes losing the match and his mask could spell the end of his career.
“I’m very focused on this match. It’s a match that I have to really prepare for, and just like you said, there is a lot of history here and if I lose my mask, I basically lose my career. I’m preparing on a daily basis so that I can come in and claim Sami Callihan’s hair,” Pentagon said.
Pentagon is no stranger to being in hard, physically grueling matches on Impact, Lucha Underground and all the other promotions that he wrestles for. When it comes to his match against Callihan, Pentagon said everyone tuning into Slammiversary will be in for a show as they’ll get to see an even more violent Pentagon.
“I’m going to leave my heart and soul out there in the ring. Fans will get a chance to see a much more violent Pentagon. I know Sami Callihan is going to be a tough opponent and I promise you that in this event, there will be blood. With my blood, I’m going to defend my mask and I’m going to finish off Sami Callihan,” Pentagon said.
Fightful will have live coverage of Pentagon’s match against Callihan as well as the rest of Slammiversary, which takes place on July 22.
