UFC Returns To PPV In Toronto In December For UFC 231
The UFC is heading back to one of its historically best markets for another pay-per-view offering.
UFC 231 will take place in Toronto, Ontario, Canada for their sixth trip to the City. The last appearance was UFC 206, a show that delivered such highlights that the UFC broadcast it on free television just weeks later as a promotional tool.
UFC President Dana White announced the news on the Canadian edition of SportsCenter. The event will take place at the Scotiabank Arena, formerly known as the Air Canada Centre. No headliners have been announced as of yet.
Toronto was a staple of the UFC’s pay-per-view market for several years, seeing four major events between 2011 and 2013. Following UFC 165, it would be over three years before the company ever came back to the city. Following the announcement of a hiatus of Georges St-Pierre, UFC’s focus on the market waned, resulting in fewer events.
Fightful.com will be present at UFC 231 on December on December 8 from the ScotiaBank Arena. We’ll also provide a preview show, live coverage and discussion, as well as a post-fight podcast live after the event concludes.
