The day before the 4th.

Tonight’s SmackDown Live will emanate from the ‘Century Link Center’ in Omaha, NE with a number of segments and matches having been announced for the two hour show. The reunion of ‘Team Hell No’ sent a shock through the WWE Universe and tonight they will kickoff SmackDown Live. Among other notable happenings on tonight’s show, The New Day will host a 3rd of July Pancake Eating Contest as well.

* ‘Team Hell No’ will kick off SmackDown Live

“The Big Red Machine” Kane returned to WWE TV last Tuesday and assisted his former tag team partner Daniel Bryan in ridding of Harper & Rowan. Following the nostalgic reuniting of Bryan and Kane, the SmackDown Live GM Paige announced that at ‘Extreme Rules’ on July 15th ‘Team Hell No’ will be challenging The Bludgeon Brothers for their SmackDown Live Tag Team Championships.

* AJ Styles vs. Aiden English

Following Rusev earning his shot at the WWE Championship, the champion AJ Styles made his way to the ring to congratulate Rusev but to also remind “The Bulgarian Brute” that getting his hands on the WWE Title will be no easy task. Aiden English decided to step in during the face-to-face encounter between Styles and Rusev which led to English being dropped to the mat by AJ. Tonight on SmackDown Live the WWE Champion and the “Shakespeare Of Song” will compete in singles action.

* Jeff Hardy WWE United States Championship Open Challenge

The current WWE United States Champion Jeff Hardy issued an open challenge last week to anyone in the back who wanted a shot at his title. That challenge was answered by SAnitY leader Eric Young and the match between the two was converted into a six-man tag as The Usos and SAnitY brought their issues with one another inside of the ring during the title match. Jeff Hardy will be looking for yet another challenger to step up to the plate as he puts his championship on the line once again.

* Becky Lynch vs. Peyton Royce (w/ Billie Kay)

This match was scheduled for last week’s SmackDown but Becky Lynch ending up facing and defeating Sonya Deville. Becky has her sights set on continuing her hot streak on the blue-brand as she is gearing up for her fourth straight singles match win on WWE TV.

Asuka vs. James Ellsworth

James Ellsworth returned to WWE at the ‘Money In The Bank’ PPV to aid Carmella in defeating Asuka and retaining her SmackDown Live Women’s Championship. Ellsworth has been a thorn in Asuka’s side since his return and Asuka will have the opportunity to get her hands on Ellsworth in the ring as the two will have an inter-gender singles match. Following her match with James Ellsworth tonight, Asuka has to look forward as she has a chance to win the SmackDown Live Women’s Championship when she challenges Carmella for the title at ‘Extreme Rules’.

* Pancake Eating Contest

The New Day along with ‘Mr. Bootysworth’ will be hosting a pancake eating contest during tonight’s show in celebration of it being one day before Independence Day.
