Dorin Dickerson Says Jim Ross Personally Contacted Him About Partaking In The Recent WWE Tryouts
Jim Ross himself reached out to Dorin about trying out.
This past Thursday WWE held tryouts at the Performance Center in Orlando and a number of names attended the tryout including former TNA X Division Champion Robbie E and former IMPACT Knockouts Champion Chelsea Green. Another name who partook in the festivities was former NFL Tight End Dorin Dickerson. Dickerson made his way on to the roster of a number of teams throughout his years in the NFL but was never able to secure a home. He is looking to find a home in WWE as he revealed while speaking with the Pittsburgh-Tribune Review and shared that he got the call from WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross about trying out for WWE.
“I got a call from Jim Ross out of nowhere,” Dickerson said. “He was like, ‘We love your background, we know you’ve been doing radio. Would you like a tryout?'” I figured I had nothing to lose. I didn’t even take a minute to think. I was like, ‘Absolutely, I’ll be there. Even if I’m out of shape.'”
Dorin Dickerson plans on using “Rico Dash” as his in-ring name and the All-American stated that he plans on being a tweener if he can make it onto the WWE roster.
“I want to tell the story about the NFL and my football career, but that guy is Dorin Dickerson,” Dickerson said. “He’s gone. That guy was a football player, this Rico Dash is a whole ‘nother character that nobody has ever seen. I want to be a good guy and a bad guy. I want to have an alter ego — good one day, bad the next. Rico’s the good guy, Dash is the crazy type, where you don’t know what’s going to happen.”
