UFC Veteran Sean Soriano Headlines CES MMA 51
The vacant CES MMA Featherweight Title will get a new owner at CES MMA 51 as Sean Soriano is going to be in action against Bruce Boyington.
Soriano (11-5-0) has won three of four fights in two separate runs with CES MMA, with those victories coming over Jacob Bohn, Jonathan Gray and Lee Metcalf. Soriano did go winless during a three fight run in the UFC, dropping bouts to the trio of Tatsuya Kawajiri, Chas Skelly and Charles Rosa. Soriano is a former Championship Fighting Alliance Featherweight Champion, defeating Victor Delgado to claim the gold in January of 2013.
Boyington (14-11-0) enters the contest while in the midst of a three fight losing streak and he hasn’t picked up a victory in over two years. Boyington did win two of three in the World Series Of Fighting, with those wins coming over Rodrigo Almeida and Saul Almeida. Boyington is a former New England Fights Lightweight Champion, overcoming Jonathan Lemke to win the strap in February of 2016.
CES MMA 51 takes place on Friday, August 3 from the Twin Rivers Casino in Lincoln, Rhode Island with Sean Soriano and Bruce Boyington headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on AXS TV.
