Charlotte Flair Compares Herself To John Cena And Roman Reigns; Wants To Be Attraction For WWE

Being the face of the division and WWE is important to Charlotte Flair.

Charlotte Flair has been Champion in WWE six times since joining the main roster in 2015. She has also taken part in some of the most historic women’s matches during that time including Hell in a Cell, Money in the Bank ladder match, and a Iron Woman match. In an interview with ESPN, Flair said the women on the WWE roster are working for more time and she’s working on being one of the biggest acts in WWE.

“The most challenging thing that female wrestlers face is time. Getting those segments on Raw, getting one, two, three, four segments on Smackdown, main-eventing a pay-per-view, being considered a face of the division. … And I have said it since day one, I want to be an attraction for the company. I want to be a Roman Reigns; I want to be a John Cena. And right now the women are stealing the show and working harder than we ever have. We have had a lot of firsts, and I think we’re on the right path,” said Flair.

In the rest of her interview, Flair discussed her father’s legacy, her struggles in the early days of her career, and how she wants to be perceived by WWE fans. The interview was done in conjunction with her appearance in ESPN The Magazine Body Issue and can be read at ESPN.com
