Report: Andrei Arlovski Faces Shamil Abdurakhimov At UFC Fight Night Moscow

A heavyweight division attraction is the latest addition to UFC Fight Night Moscow according to the former UFC Heavyweight Champion himself as #11 Andrei Arlovski faces #13 Shamil Abdurakhimov.

Arlovski (27-16-0-1NC) has won just two of his last eight under the UFC banner, with those victories coming over the duo of Junior Albini and Stefan Struve. Arlovski won the UFC Heavyweight Title for the first and only time at UFC 51 in February of 2005, defeating Tim Sylvia by first round submission. Arlovski is currently in the midst of his second run with the UFC, holding a record of 6-6-0 during that time with the promotion.

Abdurakhimov (18-4-0) has won three of five during his time in the UFC and is coming off of a victory over Chase Sherman at UFC Fight Night Shanghai. Abdurakhimov has headlined at UFC card once before, which was a fourth round TKO loss to Derrick Lewis at UFC Fight Night 102. Abdurakhimov has suffered just two losses during his tenure with the UFC and both of those defeats came by way of KO/TKO.

UFC Fight Night Moscow takes place on Saturday, September 15 from the Olympic Stadium in Moscow, Russia with Mark Hunt and Aleksey Oleinik headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on UFC Fight Pass.
