Recent UFC Signee Greg Hardy Injured In American Arena League Football Game

Former NFL player Greg Hardy earned a contract with the UFC after destroying Austen Lane via first round knockout at Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 9.

Hardy, who did not have another MMA bout scheduled at the moment, suffered a knee injury while participating in an American Arena League football game according to Ariel Helwani of ESPN.

The Richmond Roughriders star was injured in the first quarter of the game against the Carolina Energy, but he team was still able to pick up the victory by a final score of 57-43. The severity of the injury is unknown as this time, but more should be known as Hardy gets the injury examined.

Timing doesn’t just hurt Hardy and the UFC, but his AAL team as well because the Roughriders are set to compete for the league championship against the Atlanta Havoc on June 30.

There has been a lot of controversy surrounding Hardy since his days in the NFL, mainly due to the alleged domestic abuse against his girlfriend. UFC President Dana White had incorrectly stated that Hardy had never been charged with any crimes while attempting to defend the fighter, but White was wrong and Hardy was charged, but the record was later expunged.
