Kell Brook, Katie Taylor Highlight Dillian Whyte vs. Joseph Parker Undercard

While some people may not be excited that the upcoming Dillian Whyte vs. Joseph Parker fight on July 28 will be a pay-per-view in the United Kingdom, the rest of the card will be filled with big names.

Throughout the weekend, other names have been added to the July 28 card at the O2 Arena in London. One name in particular, Katie Taylor, will be defending her unified women’s lightweight title against former title challenger Kimberly Connor.

In another heavyweight bout, Dereck Chisora will fight former world heavyweight title challenger Carlos Takam. Takam will be fighting in his first bout since losing to unified champion Anthony Joshua. Chisora has alternated wins and losses in his last six bouts, taking on the likes of Whyte and Kubrat Pulev.

Also announced is former welterweight world champion Kell Brook’s second fight as a junior middleweight, taking on Brandon Cook. Since losing to Gennady Golovkin and Errol Spence Jr., Brook made the transition to fight at 154 pounds, winning the WBC Silver title in his last fight when he defeated Sergey Rabchenko on March 3.

Below is the full card for the July 28 card.

  • Dillian Whyte vs. Joseph Parker
  • Katie Taylor (c) vs. Kimberly Connor: Unified WBA/IBF Women’s Lightweight Championship
  • Joshua Buatsi vs. Ricky Summers
  • Dereck Chisora vs. Carlos Takam
  • Kell Brook vs. Brandon Cook
  • Conor Benn vs. Cedrick Peynaud
  • Daniyar Yeleussinov vs. TBA

Whyte and Parker is the main event fight in a bit of a crossroads fight for both men. Whyte gave up the opportunity to fight in one of two title eliminators to get a chance to take on Parker, who lost his WBO title to Joshua back in March, suffering his first loss as a professional.
