WWE Adds Japan Date to NXT Road Trip

NXT has announced another date for its Road Trip in December.

The WWE brand will head to Japan Dec. 3, before hitting New Zealand and Australia, as previously scheduled.

For the first time, WWE NXT travels to Japan on Saturday, Dec. 3, as NXT Superstars bring their high-octane brand of sports-entertainment to the Land of the Rising Sun. This must-see Live Event marks WWE’s first appearance in Japan’s historic Edion Arena, and WWE’s first time back in Osaka, Japan in over two years.

Triple H announced the additional date via Twitter, as well.

Japanese Superstars are being heavily promoted in tandem with the announcement.

“NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura and NXT Women’s Champion Asuka back in their home country. Though both performed at WWE’s Live Events in Tokyo last July, this will be the first time that Nakamura will return home as NXT Champion. Also performing will be Samoa Joe, Hideo Itami and Bobby Roode.*” according to WWE.com.

Edion Arena, according to multiple estimates, has a capacity between 5,000-8,000. It is also worth noting that the asterisk on the talent appearing in Osaka is subject to change. This is likely in case of injury, or perhaps if an NXT Superstar was called up to Raw or SmackDown Live. Tickets for the NXT event go on sale Oct. 1.

Prior to the Osaka date, WWE had announced the international tour would start Dec. 5 and end Dec. 15. The NXT Road Trip had eight dates in New Zealand and Australia.

On the promotional poster for the international trip, it shows NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura, Samoa Joe, NXT Women’s Champion Asuka and Bayley. The inclusion of Bayley, now on RAW, is interesting because she would miss two episodes (Dec. 5 and Dec.12) if it is still planned for her to go.
