The Miz Wants To Be The Face Of SmackDown Live on FOX, But Needs T-Shirts First
When WWE signed a billion dollar deal with FOX, The Miz was the first guy to take credit. He took to Twitter and fired off a tweet that read, “I get drafted to Smackdown and WWE gets a billion dollar deal. #Moneymaker #ImAwesome” Despite his bragging, the self proclaimed greatest Intercontinental champion of all-time knows there is work to be done before he’s the official face of the brand.
Appearing on Busted Open Radio with Dave LeGreca and Mark Henry, Miz talked bout the billion dollar deal and being the face of SmackDown Live when the show moves to FOX.
“I get traded from Raw to SmackDown, and as soon I get traded to SmackDown, all of a sudden, FOX puts up a billion dollars. I want to motivate and dedicate myself to, when we are ready to move to FOX in 2019, I want to be the face of this show. That is my goal.”
He continued by saying that he will “motivate and dedicate” himself to being the face of the franchise.
“Moving to FOX, a network show, this show will be bigger. It will no longer be the ‘B show’ like everyone always says it is. It will be the A show and more people will watch it. I’ll be interested to see what happens from a creative standpoint, a marketing standpoint, from a WWE superstar standpoint.”
Before Miz can became of the face of a brand, he needs a t-shirt. When discussing the FOX deal, he sounded infuriated over his current lack of merchandise.
“The shirt I wanted, they wouldn’t approve. I was just like, ‘Give me something to hold it over until I can get something I really want.’ I just want something out there. I have been negotiating, dealing, trying to get a shirt out for the longest time but nothing will get approved.
“I said, ‘I’m the Miz.’ I feel like I do five or six segments on the show and people at NXT have more shirts and merchandise than I do.”
Miz not only wants merchandise, but merchandise that people would want to wear, as even he would not be caught in some of his past t-shirts.
The good news for Miz that Mark Henry has his back, saying he would take it upon himself to make sure Miz gets his merchandise ideas through. WWE Hall of Famers have pull.
