New Lightweight Champion To Be Crowned At CWFC 96

The vacant Cage Warriors Lightweight Title is going to have a new owner at Cage Warriors 96 as Paddy Pimblett is going to be facing Soren Bak.

Pimblett (14-2-0) is a former CWFC Featherweight Champion, defeating Johnny Fracey at CWFC 77 to claim the gold. Pimblett has been undefeated since dropping the featherweight strap to Nad Narimani, last defeating Alexis Savvidis by submission at CWFC 90. Pimblett has suffered a total of two losses as a professional MMA fighter, but he has yet to be defeated by KO/TKO.

Bak (10-1-0) has been undefeated thus far under the Cage Warriors banner, having defeated the trio of Scott Clist, Martin Stapleton and Alexander Jacobsen. Bak has lost just one bout as a professional MMA fighter and that came to Aleksi Mantykivi at Euro FC 1 in October of 2016. Bak also went undefeated during his time as an amateur MMA fighter, with all of the fights ending within the opening round.

Lee Chadwick will also be defending the middleweight title at the event, but no opponent has been named at this time.

Cage Warriors 96 takes place on Saturday, September 1 from the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England with Paddy Pimblett and Soren Bak headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on UFC Fight Pass.
