Fight-size Boxing Update: GH3 Signs Another Prospect, Crawford-Postol PPV Numbers, PPV Undercard Fights Announced

Here is your fight-size boxing update for September 2:

– British super middleweight brothers Callum Smith (20-0, 15 KO), who is the mandatory challenger for world titleholder Badou Jack, and Paul Smith (37-6, 21 KO) will both fight on the Gennady Golovkin-Kell Brook undercard on September 10 at the O2 Arena in London, Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn announced. Callum will defend his regional belt in a 12-round fight against Norbert Nemesapati (21-3, 16 KO) and Paul will face an opponent to be determined in an eight-round bout.

– Junior lightweight Jhonny Gonzalez (61-10, 51 KO), a former bantamweight and featherweight world titleholder who is also former pro wrestler Sexy Star’s husband, will face Japan’s Hirotsugu Yamamoto (19-12-2, 3 KO) on September 24 in Cancun, Mexico. Gonzalez is aiming for his fourth win in a row since an upset 10-round majority decision loss to Jonathan Oquendo last September on the Floyd Mayweather-Andre Berto card.

– Junior welterweight prospect Kenneth Sims Jr. (7-0, 2 KO) has signed with Vito Mielnicki’s GH3 Promotions, adding him as his co-promoter along with Antonio Leonard. GH3 Promotions also recently signed former NFL player Ray Edwards to a deal.

– Top Rank promoter Bob Arum told ESPN.com that the fight between Terrence Crawford and Viktor Postol generated between 50,000 and 60,000 buys on HBO PPV but a stronger-than-expected gate helped offset losses, which he said amounted to about $100,000.
