Mustafa Ali Knows Being A Role Model Is Important

Mustafa Ali said someone considers him a role model.

In an interview with the Qatar-based media outlet, Al Jazeera, Mustafa Ali talked about his goals in WWE. He said he wished to dispel all preconceived notions about Muslim Americans and he said his vision is to be more than the first person of his ethnicity to accomplish certain goals but he did have an interesting encounter with a fan.

"I remember one kid … he said to me it's always cool to see someone you consider a role model doing something big and chasing their dreams, but it's even cooler when that person looks like you," said Ali. "When he said that, I really realized it's true. It's a little easier to relate to someone when you feel 'hey that's me. That's how I look and it's someone with the same concerns I have growing up,'" he continued.

Ali challenged for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship at WrestleMania 34 but was unsuccessful. He is featured often on 205 Live as one of the fan favorites.

Fightful Wrestling has live coverage of 205 Live each week.
