Lana Wins Her First Singles Match In WWE; Qualifies For The Women’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match
Lana is the best, Lana #1.
2017 was the year that "The Ravishing Russian" Lana transitioned into an in-ring performer after being a manger since she began with WWE in 2013. Lana has competed in a number of matches since becoming an in-ring competitor last year and even engaged in a feud with the then-SmackDown Live Women's Champion Naomi.
Lana's win-loss record is not the prettiest to look at as the only victory she has in WWE came during the Mixed Match Challenge tournament when she pinned Bayley to advance herself and her husband Rusev in the tournament. Tonight on SmackDown Live Lana, accompanied to the ring by Aiden English looked to pick up her first singles victory in WWE and to qualify for the Women's Money In The Bank Ladder match at the 'Money In The Bank' PPV on June 17th.
In Lana's way of doing just that was one-half of the 'IIconics' Billie Kay. With Aiden English parading around on the outside cheering Lana on, he caught the attention of 'The IIconics' and Lana capitalized on a distracted Billie Kay to pick up her first singles match win in WWE and also qualified for her third Women's Money In The Bank Ladder match.
Fightful does have live coverage of tonight's edition of SmackDown Live. Also, there will be a post-show podcast where our crew will be reviewing the action that took place during the show.
