Finn Balor Says Seth Rollins Isn’t A Dangerous Worker
Finn Balor isn’t concerned about working with Seth Rollins again.
Following Balor’s untimely shoulder injury at the hands of Rollins, many (including our own Vince Russo) criticized Rollins for being ‘dangerous’ in the ring. Since 2015, Balor, John Cena and Sting have all been hurt while working with the former WWE Champion Rollins. When speaking to Jim Ross on The Ross Report, Balor was quick to defend his Summerslam opponent.
“People are entitled to their opinions, but as far as my opinion goes, I have been hurt a lot of time working, and it’s never been with Seth Rollins. Obviously, if you work a lot, you are going to get hurt. This just happened coincidentally, and I just so happened to be working with Seth, so as far as I’m concerned Seth is one of, if not the best performer we have in this business. I feel that all the flack he gets is totally unwarranted. Any kind of slack he gets for being unsafe is really ridiculous,” said Balor.
Rollins was the target of a lot of criticism following the Balor injury. Vince Russo covered the topic last week here at Fightful.
Also, as part of that work, as a performer your job is to “protect” your opponent. You’re responsibility is to make sure he doesn’t get hurt in “the work”. In turn, he returns that favor. But, let’s face it, “work”, or no “work”, guys/gals are going to get hurt. Wrestling is a physical contact sport, and somewhere along the line there is going to be a certain level of “error” on somebody’s part. However, with Seth Rollins, we’re not just talking about error, but rather at times reckless abandon.
