Dana White Says Leslie Smith NLRB Complaint Isn’t His Problem

Former UFC fighter and Project Spearhead Interim President Leslie Smith recently filed a complaint against the MMA organization with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).

UFC President Dana White is aware of what Smith has done, but he doesn’t seem to care to much about it.

“Apparently she did (file a complaint),” White said on UFC Unfiltered. “I don’t know that much about this to talk about it. I literally don’t know anything about it. I know that she’s upset and she filed something. She’s suing us or filed something with somebody. I don’t know. I’m at a point in my life where I don’t focus on that (expletive) anymore. That’s not my problem. That's somebody else’s problem. I get to do all the fun (expletive).”

Smith filed the complaint against the UFC last week, alleging that the company terminated her employment to retaliate against the efforts with Project Spearhead.

The former UFC fighter was paid both her show and win money for a canceled bout against Aspen Ladd at UFC Fight Night Atlantic City. That action by the UFC lead Smith to be under the impression that her contractual obligations were fulfilled and was no longer employed by them.

If Smith’s complaint against the UFC and her work with Project Spearhead prove successful, it could lead to each UFC fighter’s employment classification being changed. Which in turn, could wind up costing the UFC millions of dollars and a host of other legal issues for the promotion as a result.
