Fight Size Update: Lucha Underground Files For New Trademarks, Finn Balor Is Coming For The Universal Title, ‘Riott Squad’, More
Here's your Fight Size wrestling Update for the evening of May 8th, 2018.
– PWInsider has reported that Lucha Underground has filed for an abundance of new trademarks. Most of the character names and concepts listed have been featured on previous seasons of the wrestling program. On June 13th the fourth season of Lucha Underground will kick-start on the 'El Rey Network'. Below are a few of the concepts and names listed in the trademark report:
"Dante Fox, Saltador, Mala Suerte, Pindar, Doku, Yurei, Hitokiri, Vibora, Son of Madness, The Cueto Cup, Ricky Mundo, Antonio Cueto, The Savage Jake Strong."
– Current RAW talent and 'Riott Squad' member Liv Morgan shared a video of the 'Powerpuff Girls'' intro but recreated with the members of the 'Riott Squad'.
– "The One and Only" Ricochet is adding new moves and taunts to his repertoire on the daily and the most recent addition was a move/taunt made famous by WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T; the "spinaroonie".
– During last night's RAW the current WWE Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins looked to keep the ball rolling with the hot streak that he is on. He issued an open challenge to any competitor in the back who wanted a shot and the man who answered the call was Mojo Rawley. Following the show a Twitter user asked "The Lone Wolf" Baron Corbin why he did not answer Seth's open challenge and Corbin simply noted that it was because he took his wrestling boots off.
– The first-ever WWE Universal Champion Finn Balor is back on track to reclaim the title that he never lost. Balor won his Money In The Bank match qualifier last night on RAW, and while speaking with backstage interviewer Mike Rome, Finn Balor stated that he is coming back for his Universal Championship.
– WWE Hall Of Famer Diamond Dallas Page took to Twitter and noted that he feels that Drew McIntyre will be one of the next big stars in WWE.
– May 6th was the birthday of the late Owen Hart. Bret Hart honored his brother by sharing that every time he thinks of Owen he smiles.
– Dark matches usually take place prior to WWE programming going live on the air of after it goes off, but during last night's RAW a tag team match was contested as Bobby Lashley's sit-down interview aired for those watching from home. The dark match saw The Authors Of Pain make quick work of two enhancement talents.
