New NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Champions Crowned At Wrestling Dontaku

Bullet Club has lost the NEVER Openweight Six-man tag titles to… Bullet Club.

In night one of NJPW's Wrestling Dontaku event, Bad Luck Fale and the Guerillas of Destiny (Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa) lost their titles to fellow stablemates Marty Scurll and the Young Bucks (Nick and Matt Jackson). Below is the recap of finish of the match from Fightful's live coverage of the first night of Dontaku, which can be read in its entirety at this link

Scurll gets back in the ring and he knocks Fale out of it, Nick returns to the ring and he knocks Tama out of it with a super kick. Loa is then hit with a triple super kick from the opposing team, the Bucks hit Loa with More Bang For Your Buck for the three count.

Winners: Bullet Club (Marty Scurll, Nick Jackson & Matt Jackson), your new NEVER Openweight Six Man Tag Team Champions

The loss puts an end to Bad Luck Fale's and the Guerillas of Destiny's reign at 118 days. This was the second time this trio from the Bullet Club won the titles, having first won them last December. They lost the titles at Wrestle Kingdom 12 to Chaos members Beretta, Tomohiro Ishii and Toru Yano but then recaptured the titles the next day at New Year's Dash.

For the Bucks, this would be the third reign as the 6-man tag titles and their first titles won in New Japan since they announced they would be moving up to the heavyweight tag team division. This is Scurll's second overall title won in his short time in New Japan Pro Wrestling after he previously held the IWGP junior heavyweight title.
