Nia Jax Shoots Down Rumors That The Rock Told Her To Walk Out Of WWE
It's not much of a surprise, but Nia Jax was quick to shoot down an unfounded rumor about her absence last year.
When speaking with Pop Culture this week, Nia Jax said that her cousin — Hollywood star and WWE legend the Rock — didn't in fact instruct her to leave WWE because of issues creatively with putting over Sasha Banks, as reported by Sports Illustrated. Not only that, Jax cleared up why it happened.
“That was the craziest thing I’ve ever heard! The fact that people would think that Dwayne would ever tell me to not do something for the WWE, a place that’s actually given him his start and the reason he is on top of the world, it’s completely false and hilarious. It has nothing to do with that at all. It wasn’t something that was that big of a deal. I had actually had an injury that happened to me personally on a flight—an overhead bag fell directly on top of my head while I was on a plane. I was out of it, I was completely out of it. I’m not kidding you.”
Alexa Bliss speculated last year that Jax needed time off to recharge her batteries. Jax would return after just a couple of weeks off, and win the WWE Raw Women's Championship at WrestleMania 34.
