Owen Roddy Says Everybody Is Missing Conor McGregor Fight
Former UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor hasn’t been heard from much since attacking a bus full of UFC fighters days before UFC 223.
The Irishman hasn’t been seen in the Octagon since UFC 205 and McGregor’s coach in Owen Roddy says everybody is missing the spectacle of a McGregor fight.
“For me, the sooner (he’s back) the better. The UFC is really missing Conor, I believe,” Roddy said to Express Sport. “And I think everybody is missing the whole extravaganza of a Conor McGregor fight. There’s nothing like it in the world.”
McGregor has been teasing a return to action in recent months, but nothing has been made official as of yet.
Roddy doesn’t even care who McGregor faces in his UFC return, as long as the opponent makes sense for all involved.
”There’s no indication of who it will be, but it doesn’t really matter, to be honest,” Roddy said. “I’ve said this before: The draw is Conor. The opponent is just somebody there to go in against him. It’s whatever fight makes sense. The biggest draw will get the chance to fight Conor.”
It may be a little while before McGregor can return now anyway, as the fighter is still dealing with the legal repercussions of the aforementioned bus attack.
