Report: Evgeniy Goncharov & Magomed Magomedkarimov Replacing Fighters In PFL Season One

Two new fighters are going to be competing in the inaugural season of the Professional Fighters League according to MMA Junkie as Evgeniy Goncharov replaces heavyweight Nick Rossborough and Magomed Magomedkarimov replaces welterweight David Zawada.

Rossborough was replace by Goncharov due to injury, while Magomedkarimov replaces Zawada after he was unable to come to terms on a contract with the PFL. Although the extent of Rossborough’s injuries are not known at this time, it will make him ineligible to compete now for the $1 million grand prize in season one.

Goncharov is expected to make his PFL debut this coming June at PFL 1, facing Denis Goltsov in a heavyweight division affair. Goncharov is also the only one of the two replacement fighters to compete in the original incarnation of the PFL, which was the World Series Of Fighting.

There is no word yet on when Magomedkarimov is expected to debut, but it will most likely happen when the first set of welterweight division matches begins this summer.

Professional Fighters League 1 takes place on Thursday, June 7 from the Hulu Theater At Madison Square Garden in new York, New York with no main event set at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the NBC Sports Network.
