Daniel Cormier Predicts Khabib Nurmagomedov Would Smash Conor McGregor In The Octagon

UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier is a few months away from challenging UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic for the gold at UFC 226.

DC is teammates with UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, whom Cormier says would smash former lightweight champion Conor McGregor in the Octagon.

“He’ll fight Conor McGregor,” Cormier said during the TUF 27 media tour. “It’s going to happen. I think because of the finances, it will be the most viable fight for [McGregor]. He created more interest in that fight with that crazy action that he did. He’s going to get taken down and smashed.”

McGregor recently did try attacking a bus full of UFC stars before UFC 223 in an alleged attempt to get at Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Cormier would even go as far as to say that Nurmagomedov is never going to suffer a defeat as a professional MMA fighter.

“He’ll be the only guy that never loses,” Cormier said. “He’s not going to lose, man. They won’t know how to deal with him. He’s going to be the only guy that goes through this whole thing without losing. Because I’m not sure he’s going to be here that long. But while he’s here, nobody’s going to beat him.”

UFC 226 takes place on Saturday, July 7 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
