Report: Ricardo Lamas Facing Mirsad Bektic At UFC 225

A featherweight division attraction could find its way to the UFC 225 card according to Combate as #7 Ricardo Lamas is in action against #12 Mirsad Bektic.

Lamas (18-6-0) has won two of his last three under the UFC banner, with those victories coming over the duo of Charles Oliveira and Jason Knight. Lamas has previously challenged for the UFC Featherweight Title, losing to then champion Jose Aldo by decision at UFC 169. Lamas has suffered four defeats in UFC competition, with three of them coming to fighters who have either held or challenged for the UFC Featherweight Title.

Bektic (12-1-0) has won five of six in the UFC and is coming off of a first round knockout win over Godofredo Pepey at UFC On Fox 27. Bektic has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came against Darren Elkins at UFC 209. Bektic has not had one of his fights go the distance in over three years, with the last to do so coming against Paul Redmond at UFC On Fox 14.

UFC 225 takes place on Saturday, June 9 from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois with Robert Whittaker and Yoel Romero headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
