Dana White Says Conor McGregor Should’ve Fought Khabib Nurmagomedov In The Octagon
UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor caused quite the scene this past Thursday when he and an entourage stormed a bus full of fighters in alleged attempt to get at UFC 223 headliner Khabib Nurmagomedov.
The incident has since led to McGregor turning himself into the authorities, while now facing multiple charges of assault and criminal mischief. The incident would also cause the cancellation of several bouts on the card, including Michael Chiesa versus Anthony Pettis, Artem Lobov versus Alex Caceres and Brandon Moreno versus Ray Borg.
Dana White is the UFC President and he wishes that McGregor would’ve just signed a contract to fight Nurmagomedov instead of attacking a bus.
“Listen, you don’t like Khabib and you don’t like what happened or whatever? Then fight Khabib,” White said to MMA Junkie. “You can come in here and you can do it legally. Sh-t, this fight is happening Saturday; we could have talked and made the Khabib fight right after. You could do whatever you wanted to Khabib within the limits of the rules of fighting. But you want to grab 30 f-cking friends and come down here and do what you did today? It’s disgusting. I don’t think anybody is gonna be huge Conor McGregor fans after this.”
While McGregor has now been formally charged by the New York Police Department for his action, no punishments have been handed out to the fighter by the UFC at this time.
