Rey Mysterio Opted Out Of Surgery For Injury, Hopes To Be Back In A Month
Rey Mysterio Jr believes he will be back in the ring soon.
Since the Royal Rumble match, Rey Mysterio Jr has been rumored to return to WWE on a regular basis, however he was also fielding offers from other promotions. Earlier this month, it was reported Mysterio had an injury but it was unclear how it would affect any upcoming matches.
On Below the Belt with Brendan Schaub, Mysterio was asked by the host about a potential Wrestlemania 34 appearance by the former World Champion. Mysterio said it would not be happening this year because of his injury.
“Unfortunately, I just suffered a torn bicep three weeks ago. Opted not to get surgery. It’s a full tear but I’m just gonna kick back, do some therapy for it and hopefully I’ll be ready next month,” said Mysterio.
Mysterio recently appeared at New Japan Pro Wrestling Strong Style Evolved where he was originally set to wrestle Jushin "Thunder" Liger but could not because of his injury. At that time, Mysterio said he still wanted to face Liger at some point. NJPW has another show in the United State scheduled for this summer.
