Interim Title Fight Headlines LFA 39

The vacant Legacy Fighting Alliance Interim Middleweight Title is going to be getting a new owner at LFA 39 as Ian Heinisch faces Gabriel Checco.

Heinisch (9-1-0) has won two of three fights under the LFA banner, with those victories coming over the duo of Lucas Rota and Daniel Madrid. Heinisch also competed once in the World Series Of Fighting, defeating Tyler Vogel by unanimous decision at the WSOF 29. Heinisch is also a longtime veteran of the Sparta Combat League, winning six of six fights in that promotion.

Checco (10-2-0) is going to be making his LFA debut in this fight and the competitor is also returning to action for the first time in over a year. Checco has previously challenged for the Resurrection Fighting Alliance Middleweight Title, losing to Francisco France at RFA 25. Checco has only seen one of his twelve professional MMA bouts go the distance and that came against the aforementioned Francisco France in April of 2015.

Legacy Fighting Alliance 39 takes place on Friday, May 4 from the Dobson Arena in Vail, Colorado with Ian Heinisch and Gabriel Checco headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on AXS TV.
