Report: Louis Smolka’s First Post-UFC Fight Set
Louis Smolka’s four-plus year run in the UFC came to and end when the promotion opted not to re-sign the fighter, who is in the midst of a four fight losing streak.
The flyweight has booked his first post-UFC bout and it is going to come against Ralph Acosta at Gladiator Challenge event on Saturday, April 21.
It was Smolka who made the announcement through Twitter:
April 21st I'll be fighting in Palm Springs at Agua Caliente Resort. I'm excited to showcase what I've been working on and to test free agency. If you guys want to come and check out the fights I have tickets for $45 and I'll be looking for sponsors as well. Thanks for reading pic.twitter.com/8pgQeixdns

Smolka’s four losses during the losing streak have come to Brandon Moreno, Ray Borg, Tim Elliott and Matheus Nicolau Pereira. Two of those four fighters in Elliott and Borg have challenged before for the UFC Flyweight Title, both came up short to Demetrious Johnson.
While Smolka is the highest profile fighter competing on the card at the time, it is unknown if his bout is going to headline the event.
