Report: Andrei Arlovski Faces Tai Tuivasa At UFC 225
A battle of top 15 heavyweights could be coming to UFC 225 according to MMA Fighting as #9 Andrei Arlovski faces #13 Tai Tuivasa.
Arlovski (27-15-0-1NC) enters the contest on a two fight winning streak, last defeating Stefan Struve by unanimous decision at UFC 222 earlier this year. Arlovski is also a former UFC Heavyweight Champion, defeating Tim Sylvia by first round submission at UFC 51 to win the gold. Arlovski has seen his last three bouts in the UFC go the distance and it has been over a year since the last time the fighter got a finish.
Tuivasa (7-0-0) has already earned two victories under the UFC banner, having defeated the duo of Rashad Coulter and Cyril Asker. Tuivasa has yet to see any of his professional MMA fights get out of the first round, with three of those wins coming in under a minute. Tuivasa fought one UFC veteran before signing with the promotion last year and that vet was James McSweeney.
UFC 225 takes place on Saturday, June 9 from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois with Robert Whittaker and Yoel Romero headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
